It happened at 8:15 p.m. on the 3200 block of Friendship Street.
Police say the 31-year-old victim was shot in the face and shoulder. He was taken to Torresdale/Frankford Aria Hospital and later transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in serious condition.
Officers spoke to witnesses at the scene and a suspect, 44-year-old William Damm, was quickly taken into custody.Police say a gun was also recovered.
The suspect has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
The shooting remains under investigation.
