The Palatine Rural Fire Protection District plans to sell advertising after voters rejected a tax increase.
Chief Hank Clemmensen says they hope to bring in as much as $25,000 from the ads on their trucks.
He tells a local paper the department is in a desperate financial situation.
The company selling the ads promises there won't be any for "Hooters or something like that."
The company says the advertising will fit with the family values of the fire service.
