3 charged with robbing pharmacies in 3 counties

PHILADELPHIA - March 31, 2014

The robberies occurred between the months of February 2013 and April 2013, during which several types of prescription drugs as well as varying amounts of money were taken.

Investigators linked a green Chevy Suburban with a black roof rack and front end damage to several of the robberies.

On the morning of March 25, 2013, a green Chevy Suburban with front end damage pulled behind the Elwyn Pharmacy on the 100 block of South Middletown Road in Middletown, Delaware County.

Two masked men got out and entered the pharmacy. Armed with a handgun they allegedly demanded money from the cash register. After they obtained cash they fled the scene.

Police say prior to the robbery surveillance video captured the suspects, unmasked, walking past the pharmacy.

The SUV was later stopped at 6th and Booth Streets in Chester County and, according to police, the occupants matched the description of the suspects captured on surveillance video. The occupants were then taken into custody.

30-year-old Rasol Wade, 43-year-old Anthony Gavon, and a 17 year-old juvenile were charged with the Elwyn Pharmacy robbery.

Investigators say they were later able to link the three suspects to other robberies in the region.
