Officials: Suspicious powder in Bristol was baking soda

BRISTOL, Pa. - April 1, 2014

The incident began shortly before 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of Frost Road.

Authorities say several employees came in contact with some suspicious white powder that was inside an envelope.

Hazmat and other teams were called to the scene.

Officials say the envelope contained baking soda, as well as a blank credit card application addressed to Barclay Bank. The postmark was from Texas.

The scene was cleared just before noon.
