Dog killed in shooting involving police in South Philadelphia

A dog was killed this morning during a shooting involving Philadelphia Police.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. on the 1400 block of Montrose Street in South Philadelphia.

According to police, the dog was attacking people when officers arrive. It then allegedly charged at them and they opened fire.

The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of yet, no one has claimed ownership of the dog.

Police are investigating.
