Man, 77, beaten in Hunting Park; suspect sought

Philadelphia police are looking for the suspect who allegedly attacked a 77-year-old man in the city's Hunting Park section early Friday morning.

Danny Daneil Diaz, 32, of the 700 block of West Butler Street, is being called a 'person of interest' in the case.

Police say Diaz rented a room from the victim at that location.

Officers were called to the scene around 12:30 a.m. after reports of a man screaming.

The victim said Diaz beat him with a wine bottle.

The victim suffered multiple head and face injuries and was rushed by medics to Temple University Hospital.

There was no immediate word on a motive for the attack.

Diaz is described as a Hispanic Male, 5'7" tall and weighing 185 pounds. Police say he is known to frequent the area of the 200 block of East Indiana Avenue, where a family member lives.
