Emaciated dog rescued from Wilmington home

STANTON, Del. - April 23, 2014

SPCA officials rescued the dog from his home in the Baynard Village part of Wilmington, Delaware.

He was in critical condition when he was saved - so emaciated and dehydrated, and his fur so matted, that he couldn't stand up.

Cuddles was rushed to the animal hospital where his fur was cut off. He was given medicine and food.

Officials says all Cuddles needs now is a good home.

The Delaware SPCA is asking for donations to pay for Cuddles' medical care. Donations can be made by visiting www.delspca.org or mailed to Delaware SPCA, 455 Stanton Christiana Rd, Newark, DE 19713.

Cuddles' owner is facing several animal abuse charges.
