It happened after 5:30 a.m. Monday on the 2200 block of Cottman Avenue, near the Northeast Regional Library.
Investigators tell Action News a 32-year-old man was shot in the left hip.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Aria-Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.
Detectives are looking for two men seen running south on Oakland toward Princeton Avenue.
