The incident happened at approximately 9:41 p.m. inside a home on the 5600 block of Florence Avenue.
Police say officers were flagged down by witnesses and were told a man had just been shot.
Officers were directed to a second floor bedroom in the home where they found the victim shot in the head and stomach.
The victim, identified as 49-year-old Leroy Branch, was already dead when he was discovered.
So far, there have been no arrests in the shooting.
