Arsonist captured on video lighting motorcycle on fire

NORTHERN LIBERTIES (WPVI) -- An arsonist has left a family in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia on edge.

Surveillance video captured the firebug apparently pouring some flammable liquid on a motorcycle outside a home on the 400 block of West Jefferson Street just before 11 p.m. Monday.

It then erupts into a fireball.

The bike was charred and ruined, but Kevin Rodriguez said fortunately no one in his house was hurt.

"My mom, my niece, my sisters...they haven't slept since they found out about it," he said.

Rodriguez said no one in the neighborhood recognizes the suspect.

Anyone with information should contact police.
