AT&T and Verizon are beefing up cell phone service in Philadelphia ahead of the pope's visit.

Mobile providers say investments to boost their networks in Philadelphia paid off with customers being able to capture and share the papal visit with family and friends.



AT&T says data usage by its customers equaled 36 million social media posts with pictures.



That's 14 times greater than an average weekend and 7.5 times more than those attending this year's Super Bowl.



Verizon said its network handled 12 times more traffic.
