9-month-old found home alone in Crescentville

CRESCENTVILLE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police had to call in the fire department to help them rescue a baby left home alone Tuesday.

Officers were called out to the 400 block of Devereaux Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

After realizing they couldn't get into the Crescentville apartment, police called firefighters to help.

Once inside, officers found a 9-month-old child alone, but okay.

Police later found the baby's mother.

They are now interviewing her, as well as several other family members.

Officials have not yet said if any charges will be filed.
