Police: Baby left in clothing bin in freezing temperatures

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Harrisburg woman faces charges for allegedly leaving her baby outside in a clothing donation bin in freezing temperatures.

Police say 30-year-old Shaisha Phillips wrapped her 4-month-old daughter in a sheet and set her amongst the old shirts and sneakers.

Two witnesses likely saved the child's life when they confronted Phillips.

She quickly grabbed the baby and tried to walk away, but police arrested her a short time later.

Her baby was treated and released to the care of protective services.
