Suspect in custody after Red Lion Road barricade in Northeast Philadelphia

A man is in custody after a barricade situation in Northeast Philadelphia.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man has been taken into custody following a barricade situation in Northeast Philadelphia.

It began around 5:30 p.m. Monday on the 3200 block of Red Lion Road.

Authorities responded to a report of a man with a gun.

Police cordoned off the area and declared a barricade situation.

Philadelphia police were joined on scene with the Philadelphia Fire Department, the Office of Emergency Management, SWAT units, and negotiators.

Police placed a nearby shopping plaza on lockdown as they tried to talk to the man.

Just after 7:30 p.m. the man was arrested and the scene was cleared.

No injuries were reported.
