Burglar steals $4K from food market in Queen Village

Philadelphia police are searching for a man who burglarized a food market in the city's Queen Village section.

Philadelphia police are searching for a man who burglarized a food market in the city's Queen Village section.

It happened on January 1 at 4:30 p.m.

The burglar was caught on surveillance walking into the Queen Village Food Market at 339 Bainbridge Avenue.

He waits a few minutes to make sure the clerk is distracted before walking back to a rear office and taking $4000 in cash.

He casually walks back to the front of the store, talks to the clerk for a minute and walks out.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 50 years-old, 5'7" tall with a stocky build and medium complexion. He was wearing a black coat with a white stripe and an "Army" patch on the left sleeve, black cap, and tan boots.
