Burglars break through ceiling of food market in Nicetown

Philadelphia police are searching for a pair of burglars who broke into a food market in the city's Nicetown section early Wednesday morning.

NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a pair of burglars who broke into a food market in the city's Nicetown section early Wednesday morning.

It happened at 4 a.m. inside the Wayne Food Market on the 4300 block of Wayne Avenue.

Police say the two unknown suspects broke into the market by cutting a hole in the ceiling.

Once inside, surveillance cameras caught the duo rummaging through the store.

They got away with several cartons of cigarettes and an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the store back through the ceiling, police said.

If you see these suspects do not approach them, and contact 911 immediately.
