Police: Camden County officer accessed unauthorized case files

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A Camden County Department of Corrections officer has been arrested in connection with allegedly using a secure law enforcement database to view privilege case information related to a narcotics investigation.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jamall Danford of Sicklerville is charged with second-degree official misconduct.

Danford is accused of accessing the database without authorization between Aug. 26 and Oct. 21 to view privileged case information and run searches on multiple people who were not housed in the Camden County Correctional Facility.

An investigation revealed a close association between Danford and Harold "Killer Clown" Miller, 38, of Camden, who was previously charged in a narcotics investigation.

Detectives also obtained flight records and video surveillance showing Danford traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, during June with Miller and others.

In September, Miller and five other men were charged with conspiring to distribute cocaine and heroin.

Miller was accused of leading a drug trafficking organization operating an open-air drug market on the 500 block of Pfeiffer Street in Camden.

"My office will continue to investigate and prosecute any public servants who abuse their positions," said Camden County prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo.

Danford was remanded to an area jail with bail set at $75,000.

He has been suspended without pay.
