2 shootings, blocks and minutes apart in Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Two people were shot and critically wounded in shootings that happened a few minutes and a few blocks apart from each other in Camden.

Both incidents happened around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.

One happened near Rose Street and Whitman Avenue. The second happened three blocks away, at the intersection of Thurman and Newport streets.

Both victims were rushed to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition.

There was no immediate word if the two incidents were connected.

Police are investigating.
