Dozens gave their time to help others in need in Philadelphia

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Dozens gave their time Thursday, to help others in need in the city of Philadelphia.

Men and women came together from the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia.

They took part in the inaugural volunteer day at Saint John's Hospice in Center City.

The volunteers put together care packages for the homeless men who seek shelter at Saint John's.

Almsgiving is an important aspect of the Catholic faith.
