Hite and Kenney come bearing awards

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A double thumbs up for 3 Philadelphia schools Monday from the big bosses.

Superintendent William Hite and Mayor Jim Kenney came to North Philadelphia.

They gave awards to Universal Alcorn, Universal Bluford and Universal Creighton school for academic success.

The 3 Renaissance Charter Schools outperformed their peers statewide by more than 73%.
