Philadelphia AIDS Walk raises more than $275,000

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- The 31st annual AIDS Walk/Run Philly 5K raised more than $275,000 Sunday morning.

10,000 people participated in the event.

The money will be used to support the nearly 30,000 people living with HIV in the greater Philadelphia region. The event also aims to increasing awareness and fight stigmas.

The walk began in Eakins Oval, then went up and back along Martin Luther King Drive, ending back at Eakins Oval.

Free rapid HIV tests were available during the walk and a timeline of the fight against HIV and AIDS was on display.
