SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hundreds of runners participated Friday in a torch run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

The 26 mile event started in South Philly and ends at Villanova University, where the lighting of a cauldron will signal the start of this weekend's Unified Fall Festival sports competition.

The run was led by local law enforcement, Special Olympics athletes and students from Nova.
