NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman running in a Montgomery County park was sexually assaulted at gunpoint, the district attorney's office says.

The incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday in Norristown Farm Park.

Officials say the 19-year-old woman was running in the park when she was attacked by an armed man who sexually assaulted her.

The victim called 911 moments after.

West Norriton police, East Norriton police, and Montgomery County Detectives responded to the scene, though it's not immediately clear where the teen was attacked in the 800-acre park.

The victim was taken to Einstein Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Valicity Saunders of Texas was 20 minutes into her run when those around her suddenly panicked.

"There were two people running beside me saying they were going to call the police. I did not know this was happening," Saunders said.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a black mask and/or dark hooded sweatshirt and armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the East Norriton Police at 610-272-0748, West Norriton Police Department at 610-630-1701 or Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3368.
