Online profile tips for 'Dating Sunday'

This Sunday is the busiest day of the year for online dating.

Match.com calls it "Dating Sunday" as singles start the new year by looking for soulmates.

The online dating site says there's typically a 60 percent spike in new users joining the site between Christmas and Valentine's Day.

So what makes today the best day to log on for love?

Well, according to Match, Sundays are always their busiest day of the week and with emotions running high during the holidays, there are plenty of break-ups which means more fish in the sea.

So if finding love was one of your resolutions - start revamping those online profiles - because you may be in luck.

"There's a strategy for online dating and if you don't do it, you normally lose," professional matchmaker Paul Carrick Brunson said.

Tip #1: Choose a clever username: Maybe one that begins with an earlier letter in the alphabet, that way you're at the top of the search heap.

Tip #2: Make your profile photo stand out: But adding flash? Not such a bright idea; photos with flash can add six years to your perceivable age.
