Shooting at home leaves man dead in Wilmington, Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Wilmington.

It happened at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 800 block of North Jackson Street.

Investigators say a 29-year-old man was inside the house and heard a noise coming from the rear of the home.

As he approached the back door, shots rang out, and he was hit in the torso.

Arriving police and paramedics tried to revive the victim, but he did not survive.

Investigators are working to determine who fired the fatal shots and why.
