NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police have charged the driver of the tractor-trailer involved in Sunday morning's fiery crash with his fourth DUI offense.

Jeffery B. Mosier, 55, of Pageland, South Carolina was charged following the wreck at 2:38 a.m. Sunday at the merge of I-95 northbound and I-295 northbound.

Police said Mosier struck a jersey barrier before overturning and catching fire. Authorities say the blaze caused a large brush fire and extensive damage to the roadway.

Mosier was treated at the hospital and then taken into custody. Officials say he was found to be driving under the influence.

Along with the DUI charge, he was also charged with refusing a breath/blood test while operating a commercial motor vehicle and failure to remain within a single lane.

Mosoer was previously convicted of DUI in 2010, 2011 and 2014, police said.

He is being held on $6,300 cash bond.

I-295 in the area of the crash was closed for approximately seven hours, reopening around 10 a.m. Sunday.
