Man shot in the leg in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wilmington police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

It happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 37th and Monroe streets.

The victim is believed to be in his 20s.

He was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment, and is expected to okay.

Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the shooting.

The incident occurred about a block away from a homicide remembrance event at the DuPont Middle School.
