The animated Disney-Pixar flick "Inside Out" hits theaters today, and chances are you will recognize some of the voices behind the characters on screen.
The voice cast is star-studded and they personify five major emotions - joy, sadness, fear, anger and disgust - all inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl named Riley.
Academy Award winners, Director Pete Docter and Producer Jonas Rivera, who also worked on the film "UP", told Action News they were inspired to find out what emotions look like because they are parents and they saw their own children evolve and grow.
Through the film we see Riley's emotions on overdrive, as they work to guide and protect her.
Rivera said, "We got to think about the mind...and places that we have thought about, but never seen like dream production, where your dreams are made."
"Why songs get stuck in your head? Deja vu...we got to visualize and take people there for the first time," added Docter.
The film stars Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Phyllis Smith and Bill Hader.
They call it a love letter to their kids.
