34 first responders promoted

TORRESDALE (WPVI) -- Dozens of Philadelphia firefighters received much deserved promotions Friday.

The 34 members officially got their new titles this afternoon during a ceremony at the fire training academy in Torresdale.

Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer says the first responders will enhance the leadership of the department.

They'll also help with promoting fire safety and education in their districts.
