Public health officials are trying to determine the source of a multi-state outbreak of E. coli.

The Centers for Disease Control reports that 72 people in five states have become ill since March 2nd.

They live in Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Patients range in age from one to 74-years-old.

Officials hope testing can point them to the food or water source responsible for the outbreak.
