Surveillance cameras caught Skyler Nelson collapsing on the ground during gym class.

Administrators rushed to help, started CPR and ultimately saved the teen's life.

School principal Dixie Garrison said, "I just can't believe his life was in our hands. He had actually essentially died right there in our gym. He wasn't with us. He was gone."

Skyler says, "I would like to say thank you so much, and I'm grateful, and God bless you."

The vice-principal had taken a CPR refresher course just ten days before Skyler collapsed.

As it turns out, Skyler was born with a genetic heart defect.

He is now waiting to have surgery to get a defibrillator.
