Effort to collect back-to-school supplies underway

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A drive to collect back-to-school supplies kicked off Wednesday.

Philadelphia's Department of Human Services and Valley Youth House kicked off the backpack challenge at Dilworth Park in Center City.

The goal is to raise money and collect back-to-school items for foster kids at the Achieve Independence Center.

There are a number of collection sites all across the city.
