Penn's Class of 2017 graduates

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- The next group of leaders is ready for the world as graduation ceremonies were held at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Penn's 261st commencement took place at Franklin Field on Monday.

Some 5,000 graduates took part in the procession as proud parents and friends looked on.

Seven honorary degrees were presented during the program including to U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey.

Senator Booker was also the commencement speaker.
