An elderly woman was rescued from a house fire in Five Points, Delaware.

WILMINGTON, Del. -- An elderly woman was rescued from a house fire in Five Points, Delaware.

The fire started around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of Mary Ann Drive.

Officials say an elderly woman was rescued by firefighters.

She was taken to Christiana Hospital for smoke inhalation.

We are told several pet cats perished in the fire.

No other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
