Shonda Rhimes says she's treated differently after 150lb. weight loss: Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on June 29, 2017.

LOS ANGELES (WPVI) -- ABC prime time powerhouse Shonda Rhimes just penned something very personal that has a lot of people talking.

She recently lost 150 pounds and says the world and how it treats her has changed.

The mind behind hits like Scandal and Grey's Anatomy opened up about in an essay about being newly thin in her new Shondaland newsletter.

She says as a thinner version of herself, people started paying attention to her and paying her compliments. She was valued more than when she was heavier and she felt like an "invisible woman."

She writes: "These days, I feel like a chunky spy in a thinner world. Strangers tell fat jokes in front of me. Jokes not meant for me, but completely for the woman I used to be 150 pounds ago. The woman I could be again one day. The woman I will always be inside. because being thinner doesn't make you a different person. It just makes you thinner."
