PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Music superstar Beyonce performed Sunday night in Philadelphia following a day of storms across the region.

"It's going to be an experience, but if Beyonce can get wet, so can I," said Shemaiah Carter of Clifton, New Jersey.

Carter and her mom got in line early and have their ponchos packed, ready to see Beyonce's Formation World Tour at the Linc.

"I have no problem with it raining or thundering. The lightning I might have a little problem with that, but we're prepared," said Alicia Carter of Clifton, New Jersey.

Earlier in the day, the Linc's Facebook page announced the concert would go on as planned - rain or shine.

"We've been bugging out about the weather since last Monday, checking the forecast, checking, checking," said Sandra Mobley of Edison, New Jersey.

"She's the best entertainer. So loving, so giving, so talented in every aspect. She's just amazing," said Takerra Allen of Somerset, New Jersey.

"We are not prepared at all. We don't have anything. We just came with our concert clothes and our ID and our tickets," said Aleece Hurt of Richmond, Virginia.

Dancing in the World Formation Tour Sunday night is North Philadelphia native and Central High School grad Quinetta Wilmington. She's got a nursing degree, but she's dancing her heart out fulfilling a dream.

"I'm so happy. All of my family is going to be here tonight, all of my friends from Central and even elementary school," said Quinetta Wilmington, World Formation Tour dancer. "I'm just so ready for them to see the show, and see the woman that I've become as a dancer."

Meantime, Beyonce's adoring fans were prepared for some bad weather, but a great time.

"I am not very concerned about the weather because at the end of the day I am seeing one of the greatest artists alive. So rain, sleet, or snow I'm going to be here for Beyonce," said Ku Dobson of Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania.

Beyonce will be back at the Linc for a second show on Sept. 29.
