Tom Hanks and his family are officially Greek citizens.

The Greek prime minister posted a photo of Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, holding up their new passports on Instagram.

The family became honorary citizens last year because Hanks had helped to raise awareness about fires that devastated areas near Athens back in 2018.

Hanks is a Greek Orthodox convert.

His wife is part Greek.
