For the first time ever, The Philly Pops will present Cirque Goes to the Movies. It's a spectacular and clever mix of dance, music, and acrobatics that will take you on a whimsical journey through some of blockbuster's greatest hits, featuring the traveling Cirque troupe Cirque de la Symphonie.

"They are a group of cirque du soleil style acrobats, aerialists, contortionists, jugglers," says Pops Music Director & Conductor, Michael Krajewski

The company was founded in 2005 with a mission to marry circus-style performance arts with symphonic orchestra music.

"I think the audience is going to be just blown over by watching these people doing amazing acrobatic things that you never thought were possible," says Krajewski, who adds they'll be performing right on the stage with The Philly Pops' 65 piece orchestra as the ensemble plays the music from some of your favorite movies.

"So you're going to be hearing fabulous film soundtracks and at the same time see these unbelievable athletic things going on that have been choreographed to the music," says Krajewski, "we will literally have aerialists flying above the audience and above the orchestra while this is going on. It's going to be amazing."

And Music Director Michael Krajewski says the film scores play a dynamic role in the show, "You're going to hear some John Williams music from Star Wars and some James Bond music."

You'll also hear music from films like Titanic, Mission Impossible and Harry Potter, "it just kind of, you know, blows your mind," says Krajewski, "It's going to be a wonderful event, and it's great for people of all ages too."
