Viola Davis to play Michelle Obama in new series about America's first ladies

Oscar-winner Viola Davis will portray former first lady Michelle Obama in a new series.

Davis will also serve as Executive Producer on the project.

The series will focus on America's first ladies.

The first season will focus on Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford and Mrs. Obama.

No air date has been announced.

The series will air on Showtime.
