BEAVER, Pa. -- A man who euthanized two dogs by shooting them in a western Pennsylvania park has been found not guilty of cruelty to animals.

Defense attorney Blaine Jones tells KDKA-TV (http://cbsloc.al/1e5qRWt ) that 19-year-old Steven Cable Jr., of Beaver, should have never been charged in the first place.

Cable was charged after the dead dogs were discovered in Brady's Run Park in Beaver Falls in November.

Jones says the events leading up to the charges were a misunderstanding. Jones says the dogs' owner paid his client $100 to humanely kill the dogs and that Cable told the owner's sister he'd do that by shooting them - which Jones says is legal in Pennsylvania.

But Jones says the woman Cable spoke to didn't tell her sister how Cable planned to kill the dogs.
