Fake gun found in student's book bag in Atlantic County

GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A fake gun caused real alarm at a school in Atlantic County Wednesday morning.

Galloway Township police were called to Absegami High School at 9 a.m. after reports of a student with a gun.

Police say they found a fake gun in the book bag of a 16-year-old student.

That student was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

The high school and nearby elementary schools were ordered to shelter in place during the investigation.
