Kids of 'free-range' parents found on their own again

The Maryland couple known as the 'free-range parents' first made headlines last month after they were found guilty of neglect for letting their children walk home from school alone.

On Sunday, those kids were found by themselves again.

Danielle and Alexander Meitiv's children were taken into protective custody after a neighbor spotted them at a park without supervision.

The couple went looking for their 10 and 6-year-old kids when they weren't home by their 6:00 p.m. curfew.

The Meitivs say CPS didn't call them until after 8:00 p.m., leaving them to panic for hours.

The children are now home again with some stipulations.

"They made us a sign a safety plan that says we will not leave them unattended at all until they don't follow up. I'm not going to risk by kids being snatched again like this by CPS," Danielle said.

The Meitivs say they know their style of parenting, which involves giving their kids more space and more responsibility, is old-fashioned, but they don't believe it's illegal.

Officials have not yet decided whether the couple will face more charges.
