ORLANDO, FL. (WPVI) -- An injured Elf on the Shelf underwent emergency surgery after it was brought to a children's hospital in Orlando to get patched up.

Jenn Thelen woke up to the sound of her seven-year-old daughter, Aubrie, screaming. Turns out, their German Shepherd, Zoey, had gotten a hold of the family's Elf on the Shelf.

Luckily, Thelen is the nurse manager for the emergency department at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, and told her daughter that she knows the best medical team to fix the elf's injuries.

The hospital shared footage to Facebook of the family's Elf on the Shelf being wheeled through the hospital on a gurney before undergoing some patching up.

The video, posted on December 6, has since garnered over 250,000 views.
