The latest beauty trend ruffling feathers across social media is feather brows.

In case the name doesn't give it away, this look involves brushing and manipulating one's eyebrows into a feather shape.

The whole thing started as a joke from Stella Sironen, a 19-year-old makeup artist from Finland.

Apparently, a friend accidentally created a middle part in her brows while making up her face.

She thought it was so funny, she decided to try it for real by pasting her feather brows up and then posting them to Instagram.

From there the idea and look really took flight, with thousands recreating them with mixed results.

Some call feather brows a thing of beauty, while others say it's just fowl.
