PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Many women say shapewear makes them feel more confident, but is it always comfortable?
One designer says you can ditch the Spanx, but still look chic in her line of dresses with patented slimming technology.
"I was wearing shapewear for years and it would roll down tug or ride up, and I thought 'Why can't someone build it into the dress?" said Lisa Sun.
That's why Sun created it herself.
She calls it Project Gravitas, and she says it's there to give women that extra boost so they can "own their moment."
"I started this company to give people the perfect dress to give you confidence," said Sun.
Her line of dresses feature built-in shapewear for the ultimate smooth, sleek and slimming look.
"I am a 12/14 and I like to say you drop a size, or look like you have dropped a size," she said.
The line starts at $175, but Sun says the pieces are timeless, versatile, and can easily transition from day to night.
Elizabeth D'Elia is about to graduate from Temple and says it's the perfect interview dress. All of the Italian fabrics are wrinkle free and, she says, the built in shapewear keeps everything in place.
"You know how it would bunch? I don't have to walk around pulling it down and fixing myself - it stays," she said.
And, the shapewear is stealthily slipped away
"It has a great lace detail so if anyone notices it they think you are wearing a gorgeous high end slip," said Sun.
Sizes range from 0 to 18 and sun says style is key, but comfort is clutch.
On June 5, 2014, Project Gravitas will host a 'pop-up shopping event' at the brand new ICON luxury apartments, at 1616 Walnut Street.
