Evacuation at Delaware Co. hospital facility

DARBY TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled a blaze that prompted an evacuation at a hospital facility in Darby Township, Delaware County.

The fire was reported at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Medical Science Building of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Images from Chopper 6 over the scene in the 1500 block of Lansdowne Avenue showed numerous firefighting units near one of the entrances to the facility.

A number of people have been evacuated from the facility.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
