Officials in Pitman, Gloucester County say an early morning apartment fire has been ruled as suspicious.

PITMAN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Officials in Pitman, Gloucester County say an early morning apartment fire has been ruled as suspicious.

The fire was reported at 1:35 a.m. Monday outside a triplex apartment building on Evergreen Avenue.

Someone inside called for help after a smoke alarm went off.

Two people were rescued by firefighters.

No one was seriously hurt.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
