A woman jumped to escape an apartment fire in Somers Point, NJ.

SOMERS POINT, N.J. (WPVI) -- A woman jumped from a second floor balcony to escape a fire at an apartment complex that has displaced over adults and children in Somers Point, New Jersey.

The fire broke out around 2:50 a.m. Sunday at the Somers Point Village on Mays Landing Road.

At least six fire companies were called to the complex.

Officials say the woman who jumped and another resident were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

At least five of the apartments were damaged.

The Red Cross is assisting 21 adults, 9 children, and 3 infants.

Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
