PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia is definitely a sandwich city and here's some of the best on a roll in our area.

Philadelphia Magazine picks the best of the best from cheesesteaks to hoagies to roast pork in its annual Best of Philly issue.

The magazine ends the great cheesesteak debate, naming Philly's Finest Sambonis as this year's top pick.

Philadelphia Magazine's Jason Sheehan says, "It's not like any other cheesesteak out there."

The Sambonis is a new model of cheesesteak built to eat with one hand.

Erik Thompson a partner of Philly's Finest Sambonis says, "We hollow the roll out and stuff inside the bread so you can carry it around."

They only do one kind of secret cheese sauce, so don't ask for whiz.

Tony Tavern in Collingdale, Pennsylvania wins for the best roast pork sandwich.

Owner, Tony DiPrinzio says, "We've been doing this roast pork for several decades."

And, you can only get the roast pork sandwich on Thursdays.

"We picked it out of the blue years ago and it seems to work, and they say why not every day? And as you can see I'm packed on Thursdays and it seems to work," said Tony.

They use local Liscio Bakery rolls from Glassboro, New Jersey stuffed with secretly seasoned roast pork and topped with sharp provolone.

"It's a labor of love," says Tony.

Primo Hoagies' Diablo Turkey takes top honors.

Ted Cox of Primo Hoagies South Street says, "It's a really big deal."

The Diablo brings the heat with an added blend of spices and pepper cheese.

"Now that's a perfect hoagie," adds Ted.
