A 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a collision that injured a police officer in southern New Jersey.

FRANKLIN TWP., N.J. -- A 36-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a collision that injured a police officer in southern New Jersey.



The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday on Route 40 and Tuckahoe Road in Franklin Township.



Police said officer Clifford Trovilla, a 14-year-veteran of the force, was driving the cruiser when it was struck by Angela Feaster of Glassboro.



Feaster ran a stop sign, police said.



The police cruiser careened into the woods while the SUV came to a stop 50 yards away.



Trovillo was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center and treated for his injuries.



He remains hospitalized with a concussion, two broken wrists and a broken ankle.



Feaster was taken to JFK Medical Center for treatment of a broken ankle.



She had three children in her car and was allegedly driving drunk, police said.



One of the children was taken to Cooper Hospital for possible internal injuries.



Feaster is facing DUI and other charges.
